ISLAMABAD: The two-day media workshop “Training of Trainers” organised by Journalists for Democracy and Human Right (JDHR) concluded, here at a local hotel.
Executive Director JDHR Pakistan Khalid Jamil stressed on the need of peace building that media should play its positive role to promote inclusive journalism in the in augural session of the workshop.
Later trainer Uzma Latif briefed the participants about wide circle of influence, whatever you write it will affect millions of people, to build a safe and peaceful society through media we need to be extra careful while discussing the issues of exclusion and violence. Prejudices or negative feelings should be countered in professional manner.
Uzma further added that journalists should choose identity to look the circumstances. Media is a tool of communication identities war can resolve for spread more education and awareness to the people. Attitude is mind set people are not talking about the facts and figures. Division of the society is creating problems, rehabilitation of pensioners is necessary for the betterment of society.
Senior journalist Shafqat Munir said, report your story to countering misperceptions and giving correct information especially in religion conflicts. Empower marginalized through balance reporting and maintain equilibrium in society.
Around 20 journalists all over from Pakistan attended the workshop including our staffer from Karachi.
